Right now, I have tabs open to three different great sites, all of which I discovered from fifteen minutes of browsing MeFi.
- Fora.tv is what PBS should be, but isn’t: awesome, interesting panel discussions, lectures, and conferences. Dr. Lester Brown discusses ways to restructure the global economy so that it can sustain economic progress through renewable energy, Michelle Goldberg discusses dominionism (the doctrine that Christians have the right to rule non-believers), Zadie Smith discusses On Beauty. Wow.
- The Ad Generator randomly recombines Flickr images with random, regenerated ad slogans.
- America’s Future Foundation has a website called Brainwash, where those strangely mixed-up “traditionalist-libertarians” try to figure out if the Republican party can still represent them. Lots of articles about the Merry Christmas stupidity, Strauss, Happy Feet, and global warming all from the Martian perspective. Good for a laugh, good for research, and occasionally, we agree: Darfur needs intervention, our treatment of Guantanamo Bay internees is despicable, paperless voting sucks.
