More techniques for cultivating amor mundi: The Big Picture
This has been bruited around the internet for a few months, but I just wanted to throw a shout-out to the Boston Globe’s Big Picture site, which posts photo-essays every week using beautiful, mammoth photographs of daily news. Check out their coverage of the the Olympics, the Large Hadron Collider, and the coronation of the King of Tonga, for instance. Some copycat sites have sprung up as well, the best of which is the Denver Post with coverage this week of the protests at the DNC. Also worth looking at: the Wall Street Journal and the Sacremento Bee.
